Silky Mohair
Silky Mohair from Lotus Yarns is a surprisingly fluffy silk-mohair blend! I was tempted to rename this "Megafluff" for our web site.
This yarn comes in a skein that is twice as heavy as most balls of silk-mohair blend, but it's length has only 16% more yardage. I was a bit puzzled by that until I realized most of the extra weight is going straight into halo for this yarn.
So, if you're using silk-mohair blends to carry along with another yarn, this one will give you a bigger fluff factor. More dense projects with small needles will really be filled in, and if using a large needle to make a wispy fabric, you can go with even larger needles for extra speed and extra openness.
I'm currently knitting a sample scarf to test this new yarn with US 13 needles, the knit is actually holding in place because of the size of the halo. This is a really impressive yarn.
